Michel Dussuyer is a well-experienced coach in African football, having previously managed Guinea from 2002-2004 and 2010-2015. He has also led Benin on two occasions and served as head coach for the Ivory Coast between 2015-2017. Dussuyer, a former goalkeeper aged 65, has coached at six Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, taking Guinea to the quarter-finals in 2004 and 2015.
Guinea appointed him as their third coach this year after dismissing Kaba Diawara and briefly being led by Charles Paquille. Their next qualifiers against Ethiopia are set for October 11 and 14 in the Ivory Coast, as neither Ethiopia nor Guinea have a stadium approved for hosting international matches.
